Where My Work Gets Personal

Ethiopia

In 2024, we met our adopted son’s birth family in Ethiopia. What began as a miraculous family connection has become a lifelong commitment to listen, learn, and build with the communities connected to them.

Ethiopia is where I practice what I teach: listen first, build with communities, and strengthen what can last.

How We Work

Listen before offering solutions.
Look for what is already strong and trusted.

Partner with people and organizations who are committed to the long haul. This is slow work, but we believe lasting impact is rarely built quickly.

What’s Taking Root

Our Ethiopian family’s capacity has grown in tangible ways. They have launched small businesses, gained reliable access to clean water, and are beginning to improve their living conditions.

As they flourish, their neighbors are watching and wondering why the same opportunities have not reached them. We knew the work could not stop with one family, but needed a trusted and specialized partner to help us expand with wisdom.

Our Community Partner

WorldServe brings the strength of a global organization with the trust and wisdom of local leadership. Through this partnership, we support community-shaped priorities — including large-scale water access, food security, economic development, and community health — in ways that are accountable, practical, and built to last.
