Why you don’t need another Bible study and sinners don’t need more preachers

I held tightly to my little ones, the tire inches away from a cliff in the remote Himalayan mountains. The SUV rocked side to side. No seat belts. They giggled and waved to the monkeys. Kids are such wonderful adventurers. I, however, was in full “adulting” mode. There were endless horrible possibilities. It would take me days to list them all.  I held my breath as cars brushed past us. Greater is He that is in me. Greater is He that is in […]

Pop Goes the Bubble & My Ego

For the next 6 weeks, I am traveling to Israel, Thailand, and India. I will be sharing a bit about how we’re changed when we allow God to POP our American bubble.

This evening I take a flight to the adventure of a lifetime to Israel with a peacemaking organization called Israel Collective.

In this post, I share how my first night of my trip didn’t just pop my bubble, it popped my ego.

Your Plan to Re-Direct Stress

I was walking out of Wal-Mart and there she was… pacing, talking to herself, and holding her purse like a pickpocket was about to snatch it off her shoulder.

Trust I forfeited 80% of my business.

Thank you so much for your business, but I’d like to be taken off of the list for future consideration.

I no more than said it and I wanted to take it back.

But even then, I knew it was the right thing.

I forfeited the opportunity to be “in the game” with a client I loved whose work consisted of about 80% of my business.

The question is… Do I have the courage to trust God?

Radical Will I choose to love?

It was there that every shameful assumption I had ever made about Muslims changed.

I’ll never forget the fear and awkwardness I felt walking through the Islamabad airport — everyone there was Muslim. I just knew someone was going to “target” me. Instead, I received warm smiles and welcomes from people who were surviving in a political and religious power struggle that impacted their lives every single day.

Lo and behold, they were human… and like all humans, their hearts were filled with goodness and brokenness.
